Hospitality and Tourism Management Scholarship Opportunities

The 91ÌÒÉ« Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) offers the following scholarships. To learn more about scholarship opportunities, please contact the Office of Scholarship Services.  

Alabama Tourism Industry Scholarship
External scholarship for students working toward a degree in the field of hospitality, tourism, hotel, culinary or food service management.

Heather Pfefferkorn Memorial Scholarship in Hospitality and Tourism
Heather Pfefferkorn was an influential member of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Advisory Board since its inception. She was a well-known event planner and owner of The Pillars of Mobile and Classic Events. This scholarship will make an impact on a student who has enthusiasm to work in the hospitality and tourism industry. Must be a full-time undergraduate student with a 3.0 or higher GPA or a converted GPA equivalent to 3.0. Preference will be given to rising juniors or seniors who are seeking a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and demonstrate financial need as determined by the University. Applicants must complete an essay through the University's scholarship portal. 

Hospitality Advisory Board Leadership Scholarship
The Hospitality Advisory Board Leadership Scholarship was established in 2017 for the purpose of providing a tuition scholarship to a rising sophomore, junior or senior student majoring Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to an undergraduate non-traditional returning student. Letter of recommendation from a professional in the hospitality industry and submit an essay describing how the student plans to succeed in the hospitality industry.

Charles and Virginia Thompson Scholarship for Tourism
The Charles and Virginia Thompson Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality Fund was established in 2017 for the purpose of providing a tuition scholarship to a rising sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference shall be given to incoming transfer students from a community college.  Students must submit an essay of 500 words or less to qualify.

Jim and Liz Connors Hospitality Management Scholarship
The Jim and Liz Connors Hospitality Management Scholarship was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to a junior or senior student enrolled in the 91ÌÒÉ« Hospitality and Tourism Management Program. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Spectrum Resorts Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2015 by Spectrum Resorts for the purpose of providing financial assistance to Hospitality and Tourism Management students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference shall be given to students participating in the F.L.I.G.H.T. program.  

Dr. Evelyn Kwan Green Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality and Tourism
The Dr. Evelyn Kwan Green Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality and Tourism was established in 2016 for the purpose of providing a tuition scholarship to a rising sophomore, junior or senior student majoring Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference shall be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

McKibbon Hospitality Leadership Scholarship
The McKibbon Hospitality Leadership scholarship was established in 2017 for the purpose of providing a tuition scholarship to a student majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to students worked, currently working, or had a relative (defined by McKibbon), at a McKibbon property. Company will need to verify employment.

Mobile Area Lodging Association Scholarship
The Mobile Area Lodging Association Scholarship was established in 2016 for the purpose of providing a tuition scholarship to a student majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Wind Creek Hospitality Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality and Tourism
The Wind Creek Hospitality Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality and Tourism was established in 2016 for the purpose of providing financial assistant to a student with a declared major in Hospitality and Tourism. Student must have a minimum 3.0 institutional GPA and be a sophomore, junior or senior level student.

The WebstaurantStore Biannual Culinary & Hospitality Scholarship
Twice a year, WebstaurantStore awards a one-time grant to students currently enrolled in or planning to attend a culinary arts or hospitality management program. The scholarship is open to all students who are currently enrolled in culinary or hospitality programs, as well as high school seniors, GED students, and non-traditional learning students who plan to enroll in similar programs at the start of the next year. The winning applicant will receive $1,500 towards the cost of their education. Deadlines for each semester are December 1st and June 15th annually. Additional details can be found on their .
