Consulting

Consulting may give rise to issues that are addressed by the University’s policy on External Professional Activities.  In general, the time you devote to the consulting opportunity cannot interfere with your teaching/research/patient care/service obligations to the University.

A conflict of commitment may exist when a member of the University community has a relationship that requires a commitment of time or effort to non-University activities, such that an individual is unable to meet the usual obligations to the University.

For details on consulting, see section 4.1 of the External Professional Activities policy.  This policy outlines the conditions under which faculty may conduct external consulting and professional activities, and describes the requirements for approvals and associated disclosures.
