Giving Opportunities
Opportunities for Support
For 50 years, The Mitchell College of Business has been dedicated to providing the highest quality business education for our students. Gifts from alumni, employees and friends of the 91ÌÒÉ« are vital to the success of The Mitchell College of Business and our students. All contributions, no matter the size, have a significant impact on the education and services provided to students and our constituents.
The Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative
During the University’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Abraham Mitchell announced the creation of the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative. This initiative provides matching funds for contributions toward undergraduate scholarships. Contributions can include cash, employer matching funds, pledges, endowed gifts, and memorial gifts. An undergraduate scholarship can have an impact for generations, helping current and future 91ÌÒÉ« students achieve their dream of attaining a high-quality undergraduate degree. The Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative provides an extraordinary opportunity for donors to turn those dreams into real college diplomas.
Scholarships
The Mitchell College of Business continues to develop innovative academic programs that connect classroom learning with real-world issues, strives to encourage students to maximize their potential and fosters students’ passion to make a difference. The rising cost of higher education is a challenge for many of our students. To address this challenge The Mitchell College of Business is dedicated to increasing the number of scholarships available for our current and future students.
Scholarships gifts are not only an investment in individual students, but also in the lives that each of our graduates will touch throughout their careers. A variety of options are available to donors who want to establish a scholarship for students. For example, a one-time gift can be donated or an endowment can be established to ensure perpetuity of the gift. A minimum gift of $10,000 will establish a named endowed scholarship fund. Endowed scholarship funds can be paid over an extended period of time. Currently, the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative matches all scholarship gifts.
Scholarships and Sponsorships for Study Abroad
A strategic goal of The Mitchell College of Business is to increase student participation in international activities. A cornerstone of this strategic goal is the creation of a manageable portfolio of international partners sharing core characteristics, which include academic quality, affordability, and student safety and security. In the past year, we have created partnerships with two schools in France (ESC Rennes Business School and The Toulouse Business School (TBS)), Adolpho Ibanez University in Santiago, Chile, the Hanyang University Business School in Seoul and Inha University Business School in Incheon, South Korea. Students have opportunities to study abroad for one semester or engage in shorter term study abroad programs.
You can help more students take advantage of study abroad opportunities by providing scholarships or sponsorships to help students cover the cost of travel, room, and board while studying in other countries. Individual and corporate gifts are appreciated.
Professorships and Endowed Chairs
Professorships and endowed chair support is another way in which donors can assist
the MCOB. Such endowments support and enhance the ability of the College to recruit
renowned faculty to teach, participate in scholarship, and provide service to the
university, the profession, and the community. However, students and local businesses
are not the sole beneficiaries. Named professorships and chairs are both an honor
to the named holder of the appointment and are also an enduring tribute to the donor.
